Spiritual Sensitivity

God’s presents can be soft as a light breeze and powerful as a hurricane-force winds. The problem is a lot of us are deficient in this area, feeling only the hurricane-force winds. This usually occurs when the congregation is together. The issue is the light breeze, feeling His nearness in our own time.

It’s so easy to sense His presents when in church. The job of the worship team and pastor aids in that. He is preparing the hearts of the believers to receive His word. But what happens when we are at home?

Being a Spirit-filled believer is not about our experience with the music and how it makes us feel, although we still feel those emotions because we are human. But, it’s more about the quiet moments. In these moments is where growth happens—feeling that light breeze that freshens, uplifts, encourages, and love is where we become more spiritually sensitive.

The church is more for fellowship with other believers, coming into an agreement knowing that He is our Father, and in His presence, things are revealed, rebuked, restored, and uplifting. But the actual relationship is on you. You have to seek Him intentionally; by doing this, we create such a close bond that a light breeze can be felt no matter where you are. Know that when He enters the room, all attention is on Him.

Spiritual sensitivity is so important. We must understand that by being sensitive, God can get our attention when we are called into prayer. Being sensitive is knowing His voice when we are called to intercede, lay hands, or give a Word for someone.

In these times, the church is awakening. Those who have been asleep for some time have been rattled awake. It’s time to become more aware of our creator. He is not someone to call on when in need, and that’s it. Though we should call on Him when in need, there is much more to the relationship than always asking.

We need to allow God to work through us. What better way for Him to work in us than being obedient, recognizing His voice, and allowing His glory to be fulfilled. Sometimes we have to give a harsh word to someone. Sometimes we just need to provide them with a hug. It does not matter how small or big, whether an encourage, directional, or rebuke word.

That relationship with God has to be tight enough that when He moves, we can sense it. We can feel that light breeze.

The hurricane-force winds. His presence can be so strong that we fall on our faces in reverence. Power that just completely changes the air in the room.

Let’s be sensitive to the light breeze—the very foundation of our walk. You can’t build a relationship without communication. So talk, pray, call out to him. Let Him in to feel that light breeze, that fresh air, because the more you know Him, you will be able to hear the smallest, sense the slightest change, feel that urgency. Be obedient no matter how hard or easy it may seem. Obedience is how God can see and put more trust in you to do His work. That willingness and openness are what He seeks.
