Our mission here at Jars of Clay is to provide spiritual enrichment to women of all ages and to empower them to become what God has called them to be. To Embrace who we are in christ by letting God transform us and igniting our soul.
Our Mission
Embrace | Transform | Ignite
EMBRACE: A sign of affection but also of acceptance or support.
In Genesis 29:13 - 'As soon as Laban heard the news about Jacob, his sister’s son, he hurried to meet him. He embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his home, and there Jacob told him all these things. '
The prodigal son At one point or another we have been the prodigal son / daughter. To embrace the women and show them acceptance and help them grow and achieve Christian maturity in their walk and knowing they are not alone in their journey.
Transform: make a thorough or dramatic change
2 Corinthians 3:18: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
Transform… When you think of the word transform you think of to change something. It reminds me of the story of Cinderella where the fairy Godmother changed Cinderella’s appearance for the prince’s ball. He did not recognize her for she had a new look. God does the same with us. As we discover who God is in our lives he transforms us daily into his image. We no longer look the same when we look in the mirror. The way we dress, speak, even think, has changed. The old friends that we used to hang out with no longer recognize who we are for we have been transformed into a new creation in Christ. When we look in the mirror like Cinderella did in the story, we no longer recognize ourselves. We have been changed and with each passing day, as we dive deeper into the word of God, we continue to be changed, molded, into who he wants us to be. Don't be discouraged if the change does not happen overnight. It is a process that we must go through daily, but one day when you least expect it. You will look back on all the things that have happened and you will see yourself as God sees you.
IGNITE: To set on fire.
In Luke 3:16 - ‘John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.’
To Ignite means to set on FIRE. God did not intent for us to get filled with the Holy Spirit and keep it to ourselves. God wants us, he yearns for us to ask him to set us on fire for him. We need to seek for that all-consuming fire, like we yearn for water on a daily basis. Don’t let yourself be intimidated by the fire with thoughts of what will happen if I get lost in the fire, what if I am not strong enough to withstand the fire? What if I break? What will I become? Do not fear, for he is with you in the fire. He will fill you with his power and you will be able to fulfill God’s calling for your life. And like a spark can turn into a flame we can together start a blaze that will forever ignite this world on fire for God.
