Joy Comes In The Morning
'See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. ' 1 Thessalonians 5:15-23
When I became a Christian I was given a book with a title " Give thanks for everything" wow it sure was a strange name for a book and given to a new Christian; I thought to myself how can I give thanks for everything even my trials. But, the book spoke a lot about Faith and how our faith would develop and be strong if we gave thanks for everything that came our way. As I continue reading, the message was just that plane and simple. Well, through the years I always thought of this book in my christian walk and how it made me feel then and how I feel today when I think of what I read. I've learned to trust God through that of Thanksgiving (not the holiday). How God has shown me the magnitude of His love when we trust and not complain of our circumstances. I've thank God for his mercies with my children when they went astray and trust Him even though I didn't see nothing positive happening. I've Prayed and cried and cried some more but always trusted that if if I had a thankful heart God would come through every time. I look back on that day when I received this book and thank God because it showed me the key on how to grow my faith.
'Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. ' 1 Thessalonians 5:24
My life like all Christians have had my share of trials but with every situation, I can say that at the end I come out stronger. A new beginning, a different level of maturity arises. Don't think that you're the only one going through this or that, that's a lie of the enemy. Rejoice for your joy comes in the morning. This is a promise of hope we must live by no matter the situation. You can apply this joy like skin cream and allow it's fragrance fill you soul. As a mom I've been observed by family and friends on how as a Christian women I dealt with thing on my life and can tell them it's only by God's Grace. Today as you read these words think of the many times you should have thanked God but didn't or couldn't, because maybe you were unsure or think why me? Well start today thanking God for everything in your life; yes even those things you don't comprehend.
We serve a just God and nothing that comes against us will prosper. He wants to develop a strong christian with strong values & character so you can be a blessing to someone that needs support when they are weak.
'No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord .' Isaiah 54:17
Wow, all that I learned from a book called Give thanks for everything. And it's be 43 years since that time in my life and it's still very vivid in my mind and know that God wants to do that for you too. I'm your book, my testimony of how I embraced what I read and now your reading it.
Somehow those words and chapters were engraved in my heart and I can say today I've taken that advise and applied it to all my trials. The strength that comes are a promise after every trial we see God weaved into our being and Your Joy will come in the morning, just wait for it, like the water droplets of the Holy Spirit; like the morning dew.
'Sing praise to the Lord , you saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. O Lord , You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.' Psalms 30:3-5
